Captain Neil Linkmeyer and a guest holding an Atlantic sailfish off West Palm Beach

Palm Beach Inlet · West Palm Beach

Blue water is ten minutes out.

Palm Beach is one of the few places on the Atlantic where the bottom falls away almost at the jetty. You clear Palm Beach Inlet, the rods go out, and you are fishing — not still running. Sailfish, mahi, blackfin and kings on top; grouper, mutton and yellowtail underneath.

Offshore, four hoursMost booked

Offshore, four hours

4 hours · 8:00 AM or 1:00 PM · up to 5 guests

The classic Palm Beach run. Live baits out and a trolling spread behind the boat over the ledges and current edges just outside the inlet, for sailfish, blackfin tuna, wahoo, mahi and amberjack. Hands-on the whole way — you work the rods, Neil and Tara work the fish.

Offshore, five hours

5 hours · 8:00 AM · up to 5 guests

The extra hour is the one that lets Neil change his mind. Troll the rips for kings and pelagics, then drop weighted rigs into the bottom relief for mutton snapper, grouper, yellowtail and triggerfish — whichever is the best fishing that day.

King mackerel · Mutton snapper · Grouper · Mahi mahi

Reefs and wrecks, three hoursShort morning

Reefs and wrecks, three hours

3 hours · 8:00 AM · up to 3 guests

Straight out through the inlet and onto nearshore ledges and hard bottom in minutes, so almost all of the three hours is line-in-the-water. Light to medium tackle bounced into the structure for red grouper, triggerfish, sheepshead and grunts. Dinner, in other words.

Red grouper · Triggerfish · Sheepshead · White grunt

Twilight wrecksEvening bite

Twilight wrecks

3 hours · 5:00 PM · private boat

The same reefs and artificial wrecks, fished as the light goes. Bottom rigs down into the structure right as the evening feed switches on, for mutton and yellowtail snapper, grouper and kingfish — and the ride back in at dusk.

Mutton snapper · Yellowtail · Grouper · Kingfish

A seat on the drift

3 hours · 8:00 AM · 3 seats, minimum 2

You are not buying the boat, you are buying a spot on it. Three seats, controlled drifts over coastal ledges, cut bait down deep for red grouper, mutton snapper and screaming king mackerel runs. The cheapest way to find out whether you like this.

Fish, then Peanut Island

5 hours · 8:00 AM · masks AND SNORKEL provided

Bend the rods first — light tackle for mutton snapper and barracuda, or offshore for blackfin, mahi and sailfish if the day is right. Then Neil runs over to Peanut Island, hands out masks, and the rest of the morning is snorkelling, swimming and lunch on the beach.

Golden hour cruiseNo rods

Golden hour cruise

2 hours · 6:00 PM · bring your own drinks

Not a fishing trip. Past Peanut Island and down the Intracoastal — the waterfront estates, the mega yachts, manatees and turtles — then out to the inlet mouth for the sun going down behind the Palm Beach skyline. Bring what you want to drink. No glass.

Peanut Island · Intracoastal · Inlet sunset

Prices are for the boat, except the drift, which is per seat. A 20% deposit books the date; the balance is due on the day, by Zelle, Venmo or cash.

Your crew

Two captains, one boat, same last name

Guests keep writing the same sentence in their reviews: Neil and Tara worked as a team. That is the whole operation — nobody is hired for the season, and nobody is learning on your trip.

Capt. Neil Linkmeyer

Capt. Neil Linkmeyer

Owner and captain

Neil has spent his working life reading this stretch of the Atlantic — seasonal patterns, current edges, which ledges hold fish on which tide. He calls the night before a trip, works around the weather rather than through it, and is, in the words of one review, calm and steady with people who have never held a rod.

Capt. Tara

Capt. Tara

Captain, and Neil's daughter

Tara runs the deck: rigging, baits, teaching, and getting the fish in the boat. Families single her out by name in review after review, and she is the one who takes guests snorkelling off Peanut Island. She also out-fishes most of the charter — the blackfin in the photo is hers.

“Neil and Tara worked as a team to locate the fish and then deliver the techniques to put them in the boat. You'll enjoy fishing with these two pros.”

The boat

A 24' Sea Pro out of 900 E Blue Heron Blvd

A 2024 Sea Pro centre console with a single 300 hp outboard — small enough to be a private trip and fast enough that the running time never eats the charter. GPS, fish finder, VHF, livewell and a proper head on board, which matters more than anyone admits at hour three.

Everything you need to fish is already on it: rods, reels, terminal tackle, lures, and your Florida saltwater licence. You bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and whatever you want to eat and drink.

“Palm Beach Charters was an outstanding time. Neil and Tara were fun to be with and worked hard to keep us busy catching fish. We caught 30+ in around 4 hours including a sailfish. We will be back to fish with them and highly recommended them.”

“Captain Neil and Tara were absolutely wonderful guides! My 11 year old daughter and I had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend them to others!”
Nick KosmidesAugust 2026 · A seat on the drift
“Went out with Neil and Tara early in the morning and hit a blackfin tuna right off the bat. Waves were a little rough but Neil and Tara were great and kept everyone in good spirits. I would absolutely do another trip with them.”
Owen SmithMay 2026 · Offshore, four hours
“We caught a multitude of species, including my target Mahi. The boat was well equipped and comfortable. We did a mix of trolling and reef fishing, both being productive. We caught the mahi within 15mins of leaving the inlet.”
Steven ParaskevopoulosApril 2026 · Offshore, four hours
“My brother and I have always wanted to go deep sea fishing! We ended up catching 6 mahi. Towards the end of our trip we hooked into a tuna aprox 20lbs — and an 8 ft shark stole it off our line. This was such a cool experience.”

Before you book

Good to know

Neil's own terms, in plain English. Anything not answered here, call him — he would rather talk it through than have you guess.

What does the price include?

Rods, reels, terminal tackle, frozen bait, and lures, your Florida saltwater fishing licence, and cleaning and filleting your catch at the dock. Live bait is available for purchase on the day of the trip. Tips for the crew are greatly appreciated! You keep what you catch.

What do I bring?

A hat, sunscreen, polarised sunglasses and clothes for the weather. Food and drinks for the trip — no glass bottles on the boat.

How do I pay?

A 20% deposit holds the date. The balance is due on the day of the trip, by Zelle or Venmo or cash. Tips for the crew are greatly appreciated

What if I have to cancel?

Cancel at least three days before the trip and your deposit is refunded. Rescheduling is easier than cancelling and Neil would rather do that — it depends on what he has open.

What if the weather is bad?

If Neil has to call it off for weather, health or a boat problem, you choose: pick another date, or take the deposit back.

Is it alright for kids?

Yes, and a lot of the reviews are from families. Younger guests wear a life vest the whole trip. Tara is usually the one who ends up teaching them.
